Nothing ventured, nothing gained

The weather has been fantastic this week. I already feel like I've experienced more summer weather than I did all of last year. I'm sure that is because I only have a few memories of the blur that was last summer and most of them involve feeding babies in the middle of the night. My mom is going back to Ottawa tomorrow morning on the train. I have had help with the girls for nearly 3 weeks so I'm going to have to adjust to doing it on my own during the day. It's funny because I'm starting to think they are just as much work now as they were when they were newborns. From about 4 - 10 months they were very easy to look after but now they are so curious and active that it's a lot of work keeping up with them all day. We've all been busy this week. I've alluded to John working hard these past few months and on Monday they launched the website he built. It's a private real estate site (www.buyourhouse.ca) and yesterday they were on CityTV 6 o'clock news. It was very exciting. John's always wanted a shot at doing something like this and he has worked very hard (and very late at night) to ensure that it didn't take time away from his time with the girls. I am very proud of him no matter what happens with the site. Some other exciting news (for us anyway!) is that we have booked a trip to Las Vegas for our second anniversary in September. We're going for 6 full days at the Mandalay Bay. We had a great time on our honeymoon and we are both very very excited. My parents are going to come watch the girls and I know it will be hard to leave them but we'll know they're in good hands.

Vegas sounds fun! I'd love to go there some day. Lucky you, we'll be newborning it on our 2nd Anni! Hopefully we'll do the "babymoon" thing this summer.

Good luck with the site John!
