Tired

I can't believe it's been over a week since our last update. Time flies. We haven't been up to much. The girls are much better and for the first day in awhile we didn't need any kleenex. I think it's safe to say the mystery has been solved as to where they picked up their cold. On Tuesday when I dropped them off at nursery another mom was dropping off her son. I overheard her saying that her son had a snotty nose and a cough but that his snot wasn't green so she knew it was ok to bring him to nursery. I now completely understand why kids in daycare are frequently sick - if I was working I would have had to take 8 days because of the girls runny nose. Emma is very constipated again. We've been trying to think of what has changed in her diet and as I write this I realize it could be the cold medicine we've been giving her. Nothing else in her diet has changed. Is cold medicine binding? I'll have to look it up. Leah is not constipated but she's been a real terror. She's pitching fits at pretty much everything and she's not sleeping well. I think we have two problems with Leah - she's tired and she's learning that screaming her head off gets our attention. We both ignore her tantrums but we are inclined to go in and give her the soother in the night because we know from experience that she will not settle down without it. She slept better last night and there were fewer tantrums today so fingers crossed she just wasn't feeling well and will be back to her cheerful self again. One thing we are both certain is that something is bugging her so it's not behaviour we expect to last. So we are all pretty tired. When you have newborns you expect to be up all night. Leah was only up once last night but for a few nights this week she has been up 3 or 4 times. Yesterday Rachelle (my friend from University who now lives in Alberta) came for a visit. Alicia and Amelia came over as well and we had a nice afternoon catching up on all the gossip. It was a fun visit and it's too bad she lives so far away. Today we did some shopping and then Coby, Carrie and Ronan came over for dinner. Ronan and Amelia are growing up so fast. They can both sit up on their own and they interact with Emma and Leah which is really neat to see. We have no real plans for tomorrow - well I'm sure John plans to watch football! We'll probably go to Costco and maybe take the girls for a walk because it is going to be hot and sunny. I can't believe it's October - it still feels like summer.

I remember anytime we didn't feel well when we were younger my Mom always kept us home.
